This is one of my favorite perfumes of the 1980s: It's very poisonous.
(Disclaimer: every review is my own honest opinion, i tested all of the perfumes on my own skin and a paper test strip.)
One of the ad's for Poison.

I think this is a one-of-a-kind perfume. I would describe this as the 1980s, in all the heaviness. When you wear this, it's like this: you first smell Poison, and then the people see you. I actually own this perfume. I always was very interested in Poison, when i heard that it was been reformulated and the older 80s versions were better. Then the esprit de parfum appealed my attention.
In 1985 Dior launched Poison in a Eau de Cologne (a sort of a lighter version), in a Eau de Toilette version (heavier and stronger) and in a pure parfum version.
Those are very rare and you really don't find those in this day and age anymore. When you find them, they sold for like; +$200. The quote for Poison was: 'Poison is my Potion.' All those smell exactly the same.
In 1989 they launched the esprit the parfum version it smelled a bit different. There is a plum note in all of the poison perfumes, but in the esprit de parfum it is the main thing you smell with tuberose. The others contain that as well, but not so strong.
Nowadays the reformulated poison is not 'Poison' Poison anymore. It doesn't smell the same anymore and the main point: it doesn't lasts well. Poison esprit de parfum lasts round 6+ hours, the reformulated version is in 3 hours gone.
I'am very sorry to say, but don't buy Dior Poison Eau de Toilette. If you like it but you want more, you need to check it out secondhand on ebay.
The top notes are: Pepper, Coriander, Plum, Forest Fruits, Anise and Pallisander Rosewood.
The middle notes are: Honey, Cloves, Tuberose, Orange Blossom, Cinnamon, Opoponax, Jasmine, Incense and Rose.
The base notes are: Sandalwood, Musk, Amber, Vanilla, Vetiver, Heliotrope and Cedar.
You really get the Tuberose, Plum and Incense.
